Who are we?

We are a new company, started in February 2008. The Gambler's Bookshop had a problem reselling used books. They just didn't have the resources to effectively advertise them. Enter us. We setup an agreement that they will let us sell their used items, and link to us, and we will sell the items and link to them for our customers that might want to check out some new books as well.

While the majority of our items are books, we will also have other items that we come across that might be of interest, hence the yard sale name.

Policies

The setup we have lends itself to some issues for which we don't yet have good answers. One is that all used books are available for purchase in the store. So what happens if you purchase something, and I go to pull it off the shelf and find it was sold? There are 2 solutions to this problem. First, you can email us with the books that you want. We will pull them and hold them for you, notifying you of availablilty. Then you complete the purchase and we send them out. If you have already paid and the book is gone, we will immediately refund you the cost of that book. PayPal is our method of payment, and this means that we don't have any financial information on you. We like that, and I am sure you like that as well. Someday, maybe we will get to the point of hosting our own payments, but not for now.

Shipping

The default shipping method is USPS Media Mail. We can do Priority if you want. Media Mail shipping is free with purchases over $25.00. There are exceptions to this, and that will be detailed in the item description. The preceding quotes are for USA, lower 48, only. Write for other destinations.

Item Descriptions and Returns

The pictures you see are of the item you will get. Any descriptions are the best we can do, but may have errors. Your best bet is to research the item if you are unsure about it, or ask us questions before buying. If what you get in the mail is absolutely not what was described, please contact us and we will fix the problem. If we made the mistake, we will get you a return authorization and a refund. It is certainly not our intent, but mistakes happen.
